soundstorm nforce2 audio 5 1

SoundStorm (nForce2 Audio), and 5.1

I have just installed Vista Beta 2, and got the sound card drivers from windows update, yet it is locked into Stereo mode. I have a 5.1 speaker system hooked up to the sound card but It will not even let me click the option to let change it to anything else. How can I enable 5.1, instead of being stuck with just stereo??

Heh, sorry it posted 3 times, Everytime I hit post, it took me to Microsofts "Page Not Found" page and I didnt know it went through anyway.

Same thing here, but the drivers were pre-installed on the system, did you find a solution?
Patrick.

Same problem here, but my drivers were installed during setup.

Mathew,
I'm having a similar problem in reverse. SPDIF output from my PC to my reciever is stuck in 5.1 mode. Can you tell me how you ended up with the opposite? I'd much prefer to be in your situtation as my reciever does a much better job of re-encoding stereo to 5.1.
